WADSORTH, OH (WOIO) - A high-speed car crash is to blame for the closure of a pool and clubhouse in Wadsworth.
It happened around 3AM Saturday morning in Weatherstone, a residential community in the city.
The motorist - estimated to be driving between 70mph-100mph - drove straight through the Reimer Road intersection on Patridge Street. The leadfoot motorist then coasted up a small hill just north of Reimer Road, narrowly missing the telephone pole.
The hill propelled the driver's Jaguar into the air, onto the community pool deck and into the clubhouse. The force of impact did damage to the concrete decking.
For safety reasons, the pool and clubhouse is closed. The pool has been drained due to the dirt and car undercarriage debris that got displaced into the pool. Crews are working to reopen the pool before the holiday weekend.
No word on the driver's condition at this time, or if he faces any charges.
