MEDINA, OH (WOIO) - A Montville Township man is accused of killing his wife in a very bizarre way.

Detectives say 60-year old Dennis Auerswald fed his wife antifreeze.

He claims he found her passed out at his home in Medina.

Cops say he didn't call 9-1-1 and he waited more than two hours before taking her to the hospital.

His wife Maureen died a day later.

A doctor noticed something wasn't right and after months of hard-nosed investigation, detectives started putting things together. "The hospital alerted us. What they saw wasn't matching what they were being told by the suspect. Apparently he had brought in a bottle of alcoholic beverage, and it just wasn't adding up," said Medina Chief of Police Patrick Berarducci.

Anti-freeze was found in her system and after getting a search warrant cops also found anti-freeze in his garage.

Dennis remains locked up.
