Parma, OH (WOIO) - Parma police are looking for the thug that hurt an elderly woman during a robbery Monday afternoon.

The 78-year-old victim responded to a man knocking on the door at her Denver Drive home.

When she opened the door, the loser engaged her briefly in conversation. He then grabbed her by the face and shoved her down the stairs leading to her basement. He threatened to kill her if she didn't remain quiet. When he demanded money, she told him her purse was upstairs. The male walked upstairs and could be heard going through drawers and walking around.

Being unable to move due to the fall, the victim remained on the basement floor until she was found by her niece several hours later. Paramedics responded and transported the victim to Metro Hospital where she is still being treated for what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. It appears that the offender took the victim's wallet containing her identification and credit cards, as well as some silver coins and possibly some bonds.

The offender in this incident is described as being a white male, late 20's - early 30's, 6'0", approx. 160 lbs., brown hair and a scruffy unshaven appearance, having a reddish complexion and slightly crossed eyes. He was reportedly wearing a red plaid shirt.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to call the Parma Police Crime-Tip Line at (440) 887-7340. Callers may remain anonymous.
