CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol has shut down the entrance and exit ramps to and from Interstate 77, near milepost 173, on the Ohio Turnpike in Summit County.

The closure is due to commercial vehicles fire on the exit ramp to I-77 at approximately 11:41 a.m. Wednesday. The truck and trailer were destroyed as a result of the fire.

Eastbound traffic on the Turnpike is being diverted to the State Route 8 (exit 180) interchange and westbound traffic is being sent to I-71 (exit 161) to exit.

I-77 north traffic wanting to get on the Turnpike are asked to use I-480 west to I-71 south back to the Turnpike. I-77 south traffic is asked to take I-271 north or south to I-71 to State Route 18. At this location traffic can get turned around and travel I-71 north back to the Turnpike. Each detour will take approximately 20 minutes and will provide the easiest detour.
