Wasn't Me: Teenage Thug Denies Role in Elderly Man's Beating Death

UPDATE: BROOKLYN, OH (WOIO) - An 18-year-old charged in the murder of an elderly Brooklyn man pleaded not guilty in court on Wednesday.

Darrick Jones is charged with aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, kidnapping and receiving stolen property in the death of Edward Gruntkowski.

The judge ordered Jones be held without bond.

Family members found Gruntkowski's body on July 5th in his Rockland Drive home. The 80-year-old former scoutmaster had sustained several head wounds which contributed to his death over the July 4th weekend. His 1993 dark green Plymouth Voyager was also stolen.

Police found Jones and two 15-year-old's in the victim's stolen car in Parma on July 8th.
