All Shook Up: Minor Earthquake Rattles Nation's Capitol

(WOIO) - A rude awakening for people in and around the Washington, D.C. area this Friday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, small, 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck near the Gaithersburg, Maryland, area just after 5AM.

The quake was about 20 miles northwest of Washington, D.C., the USGS said.

No word on any injuries at this time.
