ALLIANCE, OH (WOIO) - Smith Township Police were called out to a home on Alden Avenue Saturday after several reports of animal neglect were received.

According to neighbors, there is a house full of dogs being mistreated at 22472 Alden Avenue.

Witnesses tell 19 Action News that no one lives at the home and there is no water or ventilation. The windows and doors are all covered in black paper or plastic. The dogs reportedly never see the light of day and there is an awful odor coming from the home.

According to neighbors who have documented activity at the home, in one 36-hour time period... only one gallon of water was brought to the home and the person dropping of the water to the dogs only stayed at the home for three minutes then left.

While 19 Action News crews were on scene Saturday, the dog owner showed up with some water. Next, police arrived and told the dog owner to vacate the animals by Monday or they would issue a search warrant for the house.

The owner removed six dogs from the home Saturday. No word if there are still others inside at this time.
