Wild Winds: Summer Storm causes damage throughout southeastern Lorain County

LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - A summer storm swept through Wellington and Penfleld Townships Wednesday leaving some serious damage in its path.

The storm hit around 4:07 p.m. centering in the 44000 block of State Route 18 and the 22000 block of West Road.

Both building and vehicle damage was reported.

One resident even reported their barn was moved from its foundation 10 feet from its foundation.

Tree and wires in the area were downed as well.

No one was injured.

According to the Lorain County Office of Emergency Management and Romeland Security, "All indications are that this was the result of straight line wind damage", said Tom Kelley, agency director. "There is no evidence at this time of a tornado touchdown."
