(WOIO) - A former U.S. Department of Agriculture employee says she's accepted apologies from the Agriculture Secretary and the Obama Administration.
Shirley Sherrod stepped down after a conservative blogger posted video clips earlier this week of her seeming to say she discriminated against a white farmer. Turns out, Sherrod was telling a story about working past race 24 years ago to help the man save his farm.
Sherrod says the White House pressured her to resign.
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said yesterday the situation was "bungled." Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack offered Sherrod a new job, but she says she isn't sure if she'll take it.
