Convicted criminal wants out early, inks letter to court

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A convicted sex offender is trying to get out of prison early by writing a letter to the court.

Stephen Ogletree wrote his own legal push to get out early, even if it was a bit misleading.

The letter to the court was to include secrets that nobody would no and Ogletree says "I didn't want to have no secrets to keep."

Ogletree claims in his letter that he is a "first time offender" but this is not his first stint in prison.

Ogletree's first sex offense happened when he molested a young girl. Next, he was convicted for drug possession. Now, he's in jail serving a five year sentence after a teen revealed in a school letter that he molested her five years ago.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutors tell 19 Action News that they plan to fight his try for early release.

We'll let you know how this one plays out in court.
