CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - An emotional day as a Cleveland mother who devoted herself to helping others was laid to rest on Monday.

42-year-old Tonya Hunter-Lyons was found stabbed to death in the garage of her Walden Avenue home last month.

Mourners bid their final farewell to Hunter-Lyons - a marriage counselor - during a wake and funeral at The Word Church.

Hunter-Lyons' husband - Maurice Lyons - is accused her death. He has since pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder charges and remains jailed on $8 million dollars bond.

Hunter-Lyons leaves behind a four-year-old son, who was the one who told police what happened to his mother. He is now in the loving care of relatives.
