WOOSTER, OH (WOIO) – Wooster Police are investigating an apparent murder suicide involving a husband and wife and their six children.

Around 8:30 a.m. Friday, a co-worker of the father received a random email from the asking them to check on the children. The co-worker then called police to have them stop and check things out at the home.

Officers arrived on scene at 420 Bever Street and a juvenile answered the door. They entered the home and located a note on a locked bathroom door that led into a bedroom.

Lt. Greg Bolek with the Wooster Police Department says "we found a note on the bathroom door stating there are 6 kids in the house and please take care of the kids." Police escorted the children outside of the home then went back inside to see what was on the other side of the bathroom door.

Inside the bathroom, officers found the children's father Robert Baker  in the bathtub with a single self-inflicted knife wound to the chest. Connecting to the bathroom, officers then located the children's mother, Polly Baker lying on the bed. She showed no signs trauma and was pronounced dead on scene. Robert Baker was transported to Wooster Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Both Polly and Robert Baker were 45-years-old. Investigators on scene tell 19 Action News that this could be a possible murder-suicide.

Neighbor Ted Wilson tells 19 Action News that the Bakers seemed like a normal family. "I think we are all the cliché clueless neighbors right now cuz no one saw it coming...it's a horrible tragedy" says Wilson.

Meanwhile, the six children that were left at the home are now in the custody of the Wayne County Children Services and will be turned over to a foster family. The children ranged in age between 4 and 13-years-old.
