CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Indians game was delayed for nearly 15 minutes Monday after Carlos Santana went down with an injury.
The Cleveland Indians catcher was hurt blocking home plate for an out. It happened in the seventh inning of the game against the Boston Red Sox. Santana made the catch, blocked the plate with his leg as Ryan Kalish came sliding in hard.
He was carted off the field with his left leg in an air cast. The crowd gave him a standing ovation as he was taken off.
The catcher will come back to Cleveland and have an MRI done on his left leg Tuesday.
The Indians went on to win the game 6-5.
