(WOIO) - Police in Connecticut say a man who was about to lose his job walked into work this morning and opened fire.
Emergency crews raced to the scene of a workplace shooting just outside of Hartford, Connecticut.
Police say a driver at a local beer distributor showed up to work early Monday morning and opened fire.
Authorities say several people were killed including the suspected gunman - Omar Thornton.
He was reportedly being asked to resign - and leave the company.
Three of the injured were taken to a local hospital.
"One patient is in fair condition, one is in serious condition and a third we resuscitated but ultimately died," said Dr. Len Jacobs of Hartford Hospital.
Witnesses say workers were loading trucks for the day's deliveries when the shooting started.
Authorities say that there were as many as 70 people inside that warehouse when the gunman opened fire.
