Bank Bandit: Elyria officers search for First Merit bank robber

ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) - An Elyria bank robbery suspect is still on the loose and cops hope that surveillance photos will lead to his arrest.

It happened Thursday morning, a man walked into the First Merit branch along the 1500 block of North West River Rd. just after 4:30.

The bandit sat in the bank for a few moments before approaching the counter and presented a teller with a note demanding money.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A surveillance photo shows the bandit to be a white male in his late 40's to early 50's, about 6 feet tall, and weighed 185 to 205 lbs.
