CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Police are asking for the public's help locating the person or persons who broke into a home and attempted to abduct an infant.
Saturday around 12:25 p.m., Second District police received a report on the 3000 block of W.30th Street for an abducted two-month baby.
Upon arrival, officers were notified that the baby, Ana-Luisa Collazo had been found wrapped in a blanket behind a couch inside of the home.
According to officers, the infant was in the living room with the mother, 20-year-old Abisai Collazo lying on a mattress on the floor when the mother ran upstairs to use the restroom. While upstairs, the mother heard the front door open and asked who was there. Thinking it was her father, she ran downstairs and found that the baby was missing.
The mother searched the home and could not find the infant so she called police. The grandfather finally located the infant shortly before police arrived.
There are no suspects at this time. The Cleveland Division of Police is asking that anyone with information about this incident to contact the Second District Detective Bureau at 216.623.5218.
