CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – An elderly man says he shouldn't go to prison for his crimes because former Cuyahoga County Sheriff Gerald McFaul didn't have to either.

The dirty old man, 71-year-old Edward Szidik says he shouldn't go to prison for molesting a four-year-old girl because McFaul didn't go to prison for theft in office.

McFaul was recently sentenced to house arrest and fines instead of jail.

Judge Brendan Sheehan didn't see the connection between the two cases and sentenced Szidik to 8-years in prison.

"I was quite shocked they used the analogy to Sheriff McFaul. It's almost an insult to Sheriff McFaul. My office didn't prosecute Sheriff McFaul, I don't have all the details, but I do know he wasn't convicted for a sex offense" said Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Ronni Ducoff.
