(WOIO) - 19 Action News helps make a Korean War veteran's dying wish come true.

Dick Paige has terminal cancer. The Stark County man served in the Army during the Korean War and his last wish is to ride in a helicopter.

"It's in his lungs. It's in his bone and he just finished up some radiation about a week ago which has helped with the pain," said Paige's wife, Nancy.

Late Wednesday morning, Paige took a ride in the 19 Action News Chopper with his daughter, Denise Sturgeon.

"It was something terrific and when he (Pilot Bill Asad) hovered that was just some sensation," said Paige. "Would never have dreamt it being like that."

Paige's friends also arranged for the Patriot Guard riders to escort him by motorcycle to Burke Lakefront Airport.

Paige, meanwhile, was driven in a donated limo.
