Get Ready: Cleveland Schools host Back to School Fair, Community Forum

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cleveland Metropolitan School District will host its annual Vision to Victory Back-to-School Parent Resource Fair at Lincoln West High school from 8 a.m.-3:00 p.m on Saturday, Aug. 14th .

Saturday morning, the event will begin with a community forum, hosted by Cleveland Schools CEO Dr. Eugene Sanders, to provide an update on the District's Academic Transformation Plan.

Following a panel discussion and a question and answer session with the community, attendees can visit various CMSD department and community agency resource tables to gather information about school programs and offerings, community resources and valuable back to school materials, all while enjoying free family fun!

· Free student identification kits

· Free breakfast and lunch

· 2010-11 student assignments

· Free school supplies

· Uniforms for Kids and Shoes and Clothes for Kids will be on-site to provide uniform assistance information

· Raffle drawings for school uniforms, gift certificates and more

· Bus tickets will be provided

· Line dancing, Zumba and ballroom dancing

· Free Carnival with inflatable bouncers, games prizes and more!

This year marks the beginning of the Academic Transformation Plan at the school level, and it is the goal of CMSD to ensure that all families are well informed to assist in a smooth school opening.
