CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A CEI worker was injured while repairing a transformer early Sunday morning.
According to neighbors on E.45th and Superior, a CEI worker was repairing a transformer on a cherry-picker after Saturday night's storms when the transformer blew up in his face.
The neighbor who witnessed the explosion rushed over to get the worker down from the equipment and ripped the worker's burning shirt off of his body. EMS arrived on scene and placed ice packs on the worker then transported him to a local hospital.
Witnesses on scene say there were visible burn marks on the worker's chest.
The worker's name and condition are unknown at this time.
Moments after the first transformer blew, another one exploded on E.49th Street.
