CLEVELAND - The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will have a Red Line train parked at Tower City Station - open to the public - next week to show passengers exactly how to exit a train in an emergency.

In addition to posted evacuation procedures, there will also be brochures on Red Line trains available with the same information.

As discussed this week, RTA wants passengers to be safe. That includes making sure that everyone knows how to exit by manually opening the doors if there ever is a loss of power. RTA also wants to show passengers the safest ways to exit a heavy rail train in an urgent situation.

For the demonstration, follow the signs to the Red Line in Tower City or ask any RTA employee at that location for assistance.

Everyone who rides the train, especially the Red Line, which is our heavy rail service, is encouraged to attend these lunch time sessions.

When: Monday, August 16 through Friday, August 20

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

Where: Tower City, Red Line, Center Platform (10-West)

Additional safety open houses are now being scheduled for the Green and Blue Line trains in various locations and times, as well as more for Red Line riders in different locations and times. These Safety Open Houses will be announced at a later date.
