CARLISLE TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - An investigation is underway after a fatal motorcycle accident late Monday night in Carlisle Township.
31-year-old Kevin Criss, a firefighter with Avon, was killed.
Police tell 19 Action News the Wellington man was riding his 2001 Yamaha motorcycle on County Road 26 when he lost control on a curve. Criss traveled off the road and hit a sign and a guardrail. He then went airborne over an embankment and was ejected from the bike.
It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor or if a helmet was in use.
The chief says Criss has been with the department since June of 2006 and leaves behind a wife and a toddler son.
