Mail's Here: Summit County Sheriff urges caution in wake of mailbox bottle bombs

GREEN, OH (WOIO) - The Summit County Sheriff's Office has taken several reports in recent weeks of plastic bottles being found in mailboxes in the City of Green. These bottles contain chemicals and aluminum foil, which reacts and explodes. One has exploded causing damage to the mailbox.

Any residents of Green or any other jurisdiction are urged to use caution if a bottle is found. Do not touch the bottle as they are very volatile.

Call your local police department or sheriff's office. The Summit County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad will respond to remove the device safely for proper disposal.
