CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Taxpayers are ticked off and tired of waiting around for the federal government to officially charge County Auditor Frank Russo in connection to Cuyahoga County's federal corruption probe.

Many of those taxpayers called for his resignation Wednesday on the steps of the County Administration Building. Russo has all but been named in federal court documents and has yet to resign.

At the Administration Building at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, a letter requesting Russo's immediate resignation was presented to the Auditor's office. The text of the letter is as follows:

Mr. Russo,
We, people of Cuyahoga County and taxpayers, formally request your immediate resignation from the office of Cuyahoga County Auditor.
Your appointments to the Board of Revision have been irresponsible and costly to the citizens.
Your office has discredited the county government through cronyism and favoritism.
Your ongoing conduct is shameful.
Regardless of the outcome of any legal actions and despite the growing number of individuals who have plead guilty to charges, no further good can come from your continued involvement in our county government.
People of Cuyahoga County

Taxpayers say the on going conduct of Russo's office is shameful and any office ran by Russo can no longer do any good for the county.

Several people who have been charged in the federal corruption probe have been linked to Frank including his son.
