AURORA, OH (WOIO)- Originally planned for last weekend, Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom Splash Bash Guest Appreciation Day has been rescheduled for this Sunday, Aug. 22. During Splash Bash, the outdoor waterpark in Aurora will have a variety of activities throughout the park to thank all of its guests for their support during the summer.
For starters, guests will be able to register at the park to win a variety of prizes that will be raffled off throughout the day. Prizes include overnight stays at the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Cleveland and Hampton Inn in Solon, Ohio; Cleveland Zoo tickets; Cleveland Indians tickets; a signed Shin-Soo Choo baseball bat and more! Winners must be at least 18 years old and do not have to be present to win.
Music will fill the air when the One Man Island Band performs on the Tidal Wave Bay wave pool stage from 3-7 p.m. Also participating in the Splash Bash fun will be Sparkles the Clown. Sparkles will entertain children from 1-4 p.m. near the Tidal Wave Bay wave pool.
Making a special appearance at Splash Bash will be the exotic birds from Parrot Hope Sanctuary. Based out of Mantua, Parrot Hope Sanctuary is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of parrots. These beautiful birds can be seen at the gift shops located near the main gate.
On Saturday, Aug. 21, Wildwater Kingdom will offer a delectable dining option. From 4-6 p.m. the park will serve Picnic by the Lake, an all-you-can-eat meal with hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, watermelon and assorted Pepsi beverages. Tickets can only be purchased at the park. Season pass-holders can save $2 on each meal purchased.
With water slides, a massive wave pool, the Splash Landing activity complex and Little Tikes Town, Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom is Northeast Ohio's premier waterpark.
New this summer is the Beach Family Fun Area, a new children's attraction that features a giant chessboard with movable pieces, an arcade and a sandy beach area overlooking Geauga Lake.
Wildwater Kingdom will be open daily through Aug. 22. The park will also be open on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 28-29 and Labor Day Weekend, Saturday through Monday, Sept. 4-6.
