Family Ties: Uncle, Nephew dead after apparent murder-suicide

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A domestic fight between an uncle and a nephew turned into an apparent murder-suicide early Sunday morning.

Cleveland Police received a call around 3:30 a.m. for a male shot in 3400 block of East 113th Street.

Upon further investigation, police officers discovered that the relatives had gotten into a fight. The argument escalated and one nephew shot his uncle and then fled the scene.

The shooting suspect called a friend to come and pick him up and when the friend arrived, the nephew shot himself.

The Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office was alerted of the apparent murder-suicide and confirmed to 19 Action News that the two shooting victims were related and were identified as 19-year-old Deangelo Wiggins and 28-year-old Deante Wiggins Sr.

According to the Coroner's office, Deangelo was pronounced  dead at 4:01 a.m. at MetroHealth Medical Center from a gunshot wound to the chest and to the leg. Deante Wiggins Sr. suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the had.
