Two die in head-on collision

CANTON, Ohio (AP) - A pickup and a car collided head-on Saturday, killing a mother and her infant son.
Aimee B. Hartshorn, 25, and her 1-year-old son, Landry, were pronounced dead at the crash scene in Marlboro Township, near Canton, said Sgt. Ron Cox of the State Highway Patrol.
A Chevy Cavalier driven by Hartshorn's husband, Kerry, and a Ford F-250 pickup collided around 10 a.m. on state Route 44. The car rolled and came to rest on its roof beside the road.
Kerry Hartshorn, 26, and 2-year-old son Devin were flown to nearby hospitals. Both remained in serious condition Saturday afternoon, Cox said. The Hartshorns are from East Canton.
The pickup struck a utility pole after the collision. Its driver, 20-year-old Jeffrey Whitacre, was hospitalized with minor injuries, the patrol said.
