Oberlin hires Lananna as athletic director

OBERLIN, Ohio (AP) - Oberlin College has hired Vin Lananna, who led Stanford's cross country teams to four NCAA championships, as its athletic director.
Lananna was director of cross country and track and field at Stanford and is a four-time NCAA national coach of the year.
He will coach U.S. distance runners in the 2004 Olympics.
Lananna replaces George Andrews, who has been acting director since Mike Muska resigned last year. Andrews will remain at the college.
