Donewald joins Cavaliers staff as assistant

CLEVELAND (AP) - Cavaliers coach Paul Silas completed his staff Thursday by hiring Bob Donewald Jr., his former assistant with the Hornets.
Donewald joins Mark Osowski and Silas' son, Stephen Silas, as the Cavaliers' assistant coaches.
Donewald and Stephen Silas each spent the past two seasons on Paul Silas' staff with Charlotte/New Orleans. Donewald also has worked as a scout for the New Jersey Nets.
Osowski, who spent the past three seasons with the Warriors, worked as an assistant with the Hornets along with Silas, who replaced Dave Cowens as head coach midway through the 1998-99 season.
