BRECKSVILLE, Ohio (AP) - Four young hikers lost for seven hours in dense woodlands were found safe.
Michael P. Robinson, 18, his 17-year-old girlfriend and two young cousins were found early Sunday about one mile from the Cleveland Metroparks pavilion where family members had gathered.
Ranger Capt. Dan Veloski said the four left a family picnic to go hiking about 7 p.m. Saturday. Relatives alerted rangers 50 minutes later.
"Once sundown came, they could not move from where they were," Veloski said. "They covered a lot of ground, back and forth, and up and down ravines."
Calls for help directed rangers who found them in the Brecksville reservation located between Cleveland and Akron.
