Woman who was severely burned as child loses son in fire

LORAIN, Ohio (AP) - Fire continues to haunt Nicole Diar of Lorain.
The 28-year-old woman endured years of surgeries after her cotton nightgown caught fire when she was 4 years old.
Now, a fire has claimed the life of Diar's 4-year-old son, Jacob.
Fire squads were called to the family's Lorain home Wednesday, but attempts by neighbors and firefighters to reach Jacob failed.
Authorities aren't sure what caused the fire, but they believe it started in Jacob's bedroom.
Assistant Chief Rich Shlapack said flames were coming out of Jacob's first-floor bedroom window when firefighters arrived and it was beyond their ability to do anything.
It's not fair, said Diar's sister Becky, who was only months old when her sister was burned.
