Find Him: U.S. Marshals seek fugitive who bashed man over the head with a tire iron

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive James Thurman.

Thurman is wanted by the U.S. Marshals, and the Cleveland Police Department on charges of aggravated assault.  On January 1st of 2011, it is alleged that Thurman was involved in an altercation which took place in the area of Ansel Road and Hough Avenue at approximately 11:32 pm.  The victim of the assault was arguing with Thurman's daughter when Thurman came from behind the victim and struck him over the head with a tire iron.  Thurman then fled the area before police responded.  Thurman does not have an extensive criminal history; however his prior arrests include many acts of violence.  Thurman should be considered dangerous and approached with caution.

Thurman is a 46-year-old black male standing approximately 5'07", and weighing 195 pounds.  He has black hair and has brown eyes.  Thurman has a scar on his right wrist and his lip.  Thurman has numerous family members and associates throughout the Cleveland area.  Thurman has previously resided at 1575 East Boulevard in Cleveland.  Thurman is known to frequent the east side of Cleveland specifically the area surrounding 140th Street and St. Claire Avenue as well as E. 72nd Street and St. Claire Avenue.
