Woman breaks out of jail, flees with female lover

BEDFORD HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - A woman busts out of jail with the help of her female lover.

The jail break happened early Friday morning at the Bedford Heights Police station.

34-year-old Ruby Seagraves had been locked up there since January and is charged with federal drug charges.

Police say Seagraves knocked out a back window in the female dorm, an area that does not house the most violent criminals.

"She removed the rubber gasket that holds the window in and then was able to force it open and crack the frame on the outside," Bedford Heights Police Sgt Raymond Sorace, Jr said.

Once outside, Seagraves met up with Miranda Black, who was waiting in a car. The women then fled and an Ohio Highway Patrol Officer spotted them several hours later.

Both women are now locked up in the Morrow County Jail.

There were other female prisoners in the dorm, but nobody else escaped.
