Four Northeast Ohio servicemen killed in Afghanistan

CHESTERLAND, OH (WOIO) -

Four servicemen from Northeast Ohio were killed in Afghanistan over the past several days.

Lance Cpl. Peter Clore, 23, of New Philadelphia died Saturday, May 28th as the result of enemy small-arms fire in Afghanistan He is a son of Cliff and Chris Clore and a 2006 graduate of Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School.

Chief Warrant Officer Christopher R. Thibodeau, 28, of Chesterland, Ohio, died May 26th in Paktika province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when his helicopter crashed during combat operations. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas.

US Army First Lieutenant John M. Runkle from West Salem, Ohio, was also killed in action in Afghanistan this week while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. His body arrived at Dover Air Force Base on Saturday, May 28th.

US Army soldier Adam Hamilton, 22,  from Kent, Ohio, was killed by a land mine explosion in Afghanistan Friday, May 27th. He had been in Afghanistan since March 2011 and was serving with a Kansas-based unit. Family members were notified on Saturday, May 28th .

Funeral services have not been announced for the fallen soldiers at this time.
