Fresh cucumbers sold at Giant Eagle recalled

Fresh cucumber supplier C.W. Hendrix Farms, Inc. of Boca Raton, FL has voluntarily recalled fresh cucumbers distributed from its facility between May 6 and May 13, 2011, due to possible salmonella contamination.

Giant Eagle is one of a number of retailers impacted by this recall. To date Giant Eagle has received no reports of customer illness. While it is likely that the potentially impacted product has already been consumed by customers, Giant Eagle is notifying our customers out of an abundance of caution. Additionally, none of the cucumbers currently available in-store are impacted by Additionally this recall.
