INDEPENDENCE, OH (WOIO) - The Northeast Ohio Science & Innovation Coalition will host its first military job fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 31, at the Crowne Center Plaza, 5300 Rockside Rd. in Independence.
The event will seek to place military personnel and veterans in health care positions at NOHSIC hospitals including University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth System, Southwest General Health Center, EMH Healthcare, and Summa Health System.
The military job fair aims to create employment growth at all entry points to the health care market, including retraining employees new to health care to fill vacancies, providing advancement opportunities to incumbent health care workers in order to move into leadership roles, and bringing in future employees via internship opportunities.
Southwest General's Thomas A. Selden, president and CEO, will provide opening remarks at the fair. Selden is a retired Lt. Colonel with 23 years of military service, primarily in the United States Army Reserve.
