Parma man who stuffed carpet down sewer during downpour wants jury trial

PARMA, OH (WOIO) - The 56-year-old Parma man arrested after using pieces of carpet to block the sewer during a May rain storm was arraigned in court Wednesday.

Kish's attorney entered a plea of not guilty and asked for a jury trial.

The judge set the jury trial for June 28th at 9 a.m.

John Kish is also accused of threatening a neighbor when the neighbor tried to remove the carpet.

Officers arrived and found Kish standing in the water, with no shirt on, giving the middle finger to his neighbors.

Kish was arrested for aggravated menacing, dumping refuse in a sewer and disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Kish told officers that he was blocking the sewer to keep his basement from flooding.
