Strasburg woman abducted by estranged husband found safe & he's locked up in PA

STRASBURG, OH (WOIO) -

An Ohio man accused of kidnapping his estranged wife and her mother has been caught and locked up.

Todd Potts is in custody with the Beaver Co. Sheriffs Office in PA.

The Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Office and the Strasburg Police Department say Michelle Potts, 47, was abducted from her home Friday morning along with her mother Paulette by the 42 year old.

Michelle and her mother were sleeping at their home located at 800 Wardell Drive S.W. when Potts forced his way into the home and held both women captive upstairs before forcing them both into Michelle's 2009 silver Ford Fusion.

Potts later put his mother-in-law out of the car near Columbia Road where she hitch-hiked back into town and flagged down a police officer.

Michelle Potts was later dropped off somewhere in Ohio and was able to reach authorities reporting her whereabouts. 

Todd was later spotted in Kentucky Twp., WV and a pursuit started and ended in Beaver Co., PA, where he was taken into custody.

Todd will be arrainged in PA on the pursuit charges. After that he will be extradited to Tuscarwaras Co. where he will face charged of abduction (2 counts), aggravated burglary, and grand theft auto.
