Woman seriously injured when her car slams into a school bus

ALLEN TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) -

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious two vehicle injury crash involving a school bus.

It happened at 3:56pm on Opfer Lentz Rd., which is one mile south of SR 579 in Allen Township in Ottawa County.

Police say Kathleen M. Pons of Elyria, OH had to be life-flighted to UTMC when she drove her Honda left of center slammed into a Bluebird School bus belonging to Genoa Area Local Schools.

The bus' driver Pamela G. Gruetter of Martin, OH was not injured nor were any of eight passengers on the bus. 

Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred. Alcohol is not a factor in the crash.
