Buckeye Traffic: ODOT traffic cams are coming soon June 8, 2011 at 10:15 PM EST - Updated June 24 at 8:10 AM Buckeye Traffic provides Ohio travelers with up-to-date information on road conditions, traffic, construction, and other activity affecting roadways. The site is managed by ODOT and its goal is to keep traffic moving and refer the proper agencies during accidents and emergencies. "Their first goal is to call first responders right away, get somebody out there. Then call the ODOT crews, get somebody out there to maintain the traffic," said Jackie Schafer, ODOT PIO. Eventually there will be 83 Cleveland cameras working and 64 in Akron, 29 message signs in Cleveland and 18 in Akron. The system is on target for completion at the end of September. The information is collected in Columbus and compiled onto the buckeyetraffic.org web site. Copyright 2011 WOIO. All rights reserved.
