Berea police urge vigilance in wake of attempted child lurings

BEREA, OH (WOIO) - Police in Berea are investigating three unrelated attempted child lurings.

The first incident happened on May 1st on Fair Street near the school board. A 12-year-old boy was riding his bike when a man driving a car started following him and told him to get in the car. The white man with no facial hair was driving a tan or gold Infinite.

The second incident happened May 31st on Liberty Street behind the Walgreens. Two girls say they were approached by two heavy-set black men in a dark blue older model sedan. The passenger got out and tried to drag one of the girls into the vehicle, but she got away.

The third incident happened June 5th near the intersection of Stanford and Lee. A nine-year-old boy told police a bald, white man driving a dark sedan motioned to him and said, "Come here, buddy."

The nine-year-old ran home.
