Weapon stolen from gun shop used in east side homicide

Cleveland Police Homicide Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting on the city's east side Sunday.

According to police, the shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. near E.92nd and Holton.

Witnesses told police two males approached Jamil Grant, 19, and began fighting with him. Next, the witness heard two shots fired. He then went over and found Grant laying on the ground and called police.

Cleveland Police tell 19 Action News that Jamil Grant was apparently shot in the head, he was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting weapon was located by police on scene and had been reported stolen with other guns from a gun shop in Kirtland, OH.

There are no suspects or suspect descriptions at this time.
