ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) - Elyria police arrested an irate customer Friday for assaulting a clerk at Hanini's Subs.
Police were first called to the restaurant around 3:53 p.m. for a disturbance.
The owner told police Ralph Mowery, 47 of Elyria, removed his false teeth, threw them onto the counter, yelled profanities and threatened to fight everyone. He became more upset when his teeth fell off the counter.
Mowery was told to leave or he'd be charged with trespassing, but around 4:15 p.m., police were called back to the sub shop because he had returned.
Workers say he walked behind the counter and tried to assault a clerk.
According to a police report, officers had been called to the restaurant several time over the past several weeks for Mowery causing a disturbance.
Mowery was charged with assault, criminal trespass and taken to Lorain County Jail.
