AKRON, OH (WOIO) - A neighborhood post office will be closing but, the city isn't going down without a fight.
The Goodyear Heights Post Office at 1763 Goodyear Boulevard will close its doors after business this Friday.
However, the Mayor's office has filed a temporary restraining order to keep the post office open because of the large number of residents who walk to that post office.
The Goodyear Heights Post Office is the fourth post office to close in the Akron area.
Akron is only the second city in the country to go to court to try and stop a post office from closing.
The first was Tuscaloosa, Alabama and the city lost.
