AKRON, OH (WOIO) - In one of Akron's toughest neighborhoods, a local Pastor is doing something many would call "risky business."
Pastor Duane Crabbs is the Minister at South Street Ministries located right next door to the Summit County Jail.
In his building, he has created a café to help train newly released prisoners to help rehabilitate them to make a smooth transition back into the real world.
Pastor Crabbs advertises on the street with signs to try and gain more customers to his café name The Front Porch.
Jennifer Stuntz, Front Porch Café Manager tells 19 Action News "He would see me in the streets and he would stop and pray for me. I was smoking crack and walking the streets and he would pray for me."
Pastor Cribbs is the go to guy for kids too. He recently gave four teenagers summer jobs helping out the youth ministry.
Four teens got summer jobs helping with the youth ministry.
Putting his best foot forward with arms wide open, Pastor Crabbs tells 19 Action News "LeBron James couldn't buy my life. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world."
