Chardon woman rescues nearly two dozen cats, kittens from high kill shelter

CHARDON, OH (WOIO) - A Chardon woman rescued 22 cats from a high kill shelter in North Carolina and Georgia after reading about them on Facebook.

Erin Brady has never fostered cats before, but after reading about the animals on sites like Petpardons on Facebook, she knew she had to something.

Erin contacted the shelter and a volunteer drove the animals to Ohio.

Tuesday evening, Erin got the 22 cats. 15 kittens, five newborns and their mom and a nine-month-old kitten.

Since her home can't accommodate them all, the Chardon County Kennel is letting her keep some there at a reduced price until she can find them good homes.

Those interested in adoption may contact the Kennel at (440) 285-2545. You may also email
