Suspect sought in teen's kidnapping

Cleveland police turning to the public for help in identifying and bringing to justice the individual wanted in the kidnapping of a 17-year-old girl.

It happened Sunday, June 5th at 7AM at West 65th & Father Caruso Drive (Edgewater Park Tunnel).

The victim stated to police that she was walking through the Edgewater Park Tunnel, when she observed the suspect standing in the tunnel. As she walked by the suspect he grabbed her and began to strangle her. The victim lost consciousness and when she regained consciousness, she was out of the tunnel and next to the suspect's vehicle a white four door Nissan Maxima or Altima. The suspect then attempted to place her in the trunk of the vehicle. The victim resisted, broke free and fled from the suspect. As the victim ran she observed the suspect leave the area in the white Nissan. The suspect is described as a black male 5'8", chubby build, short hair, wearing a white "T" shirt and gray sweatpants and smelled of cologne.
