AKRON, OH (WOIO) - A repo driver was attacked while trying to repo a car in Akron.
Police say it happened around 10 p-m Wednesday in the 200 block of Kenwood Avenue.
The repo driver says he saw the car he was ordered to repo, a 2002 Olds Alero, parked in the driveway. He pulled into the driveway and hooked the car to his tow truck.
55-year-old Jackie Daniels than came out of house and asked if she could get some of her stuff out of the car. As the repo driver lowered the car, one of Daniels sons ran outside, knocked the repo driver to the ground and stole the car keys. Daniels then told a second son to go and get a gun, as she drove away with her car.
Akron Police later found the car on Treeside Drive.
Daniels is charged with robbery and menacing. Her 19-year-old son Shawntrail Smith is charged with robbery and obstructing official business. Her 16-year-old son is charged with robbery. Daniels and her older son are at the Summit County Jail. The teenager is at the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.
