Sheriff's Deputies taser combative Columbia Station man

COLUMBIA STATION, OH (WOIO) - Sheriff's Deputies in Columbia Station taser a man after they say he resisted arrest and tried to grab a deputy's gun.

The incident happened last Thursday.

Deputies were called to David Culp's home on East River Road because he was being combative.

Culp fled before deputies arrived, but they spotted him walking in the road. He first refused to stop, then stood in a fighting stance and put his hand in his pocket.

That is when deputies tasered him.

Culp allegedly continued to struggle and even tried to grab the deputies gun.

Deputies found a knife and bath salts in Culp's pocket.

The 23-year-old faces a number of charges including resisting arrest.
