Euclid Police Chief retires

EUCLID, OH (WOIO) -

Chief of Police James Repicky suddenly resigned Thursday, July 7th.

Two officers tell 19 Action News that a memo has been released stating Chief Repicky was stepping down effective December 31, 2011.

The memo also stated that Cpt. Tom Brickman will be named acting chief by the mayor with full authority for day-to-day operations come Monday, July 11, 2011.

Meanwhile Chief Repicky did not survive a "no confidence" vote just recently taken by department officers.

It is unclear if the vote had anything to do with his decision.
